New in This Release

  • Enhanced pulling of multimedia interactions via an ORS/Interaction Server protocol extension. Interaction Server can determine which interaction queue views to pull multimedia interactions from, how fast to push interactions to ORS, what the limits are for each strategy, as well as other parameters. This can result in improvements in performance and reliability when executing SCXML-based routing applications. For more information, see the Orchestration Server 8.1.4 Deployment Guide, topic Interacting with eServices, section Pulling Multimedia Interactions from Interaction Queues.
  • Use of Submitters objects for multimedia interactions, which are configured in Composer 8.1.4. Submitters supply parameters that control how Interaction Server submits multimedia interactions to ORS and subsequently from ORS to URS. Submitters are how you limit the number of interactions that a strategy can process at any given time. This feature is useful for segmenting incoming interactions and for reliability and performance. For more information, see the Submitter topic in the Composer 8.1.4 Help (link to be suppplied).
  • Attaching of Virtual Queue data to multimedia interactions via an ORS/Universal Routing Server protocol extension. The attached user data is provided by Universal Routing Server and can then be used by a Reporting Solution. For more information, see the Orchestration Server 8.1.4 Deployment Guide, topic Interacting with eServices, section Reporting on Virtual Queues.
  • Activation/deactivation of any specific routing strategy or all the strategies in a given Composer interaction process diagram. For more information, see the Activating topic in the Composer 8.1.4 Help. (link to be suppplied).
  • Synchronization of treatment request data between Primary and Backup ORSs to ensure a smooth switch over.
