Orchestration Server
Genesys Orchestration Server (ORS) is the session-based Genesys Routing component that takes Genesys' core capability of routing and extends it, generalizes it, and integrates it more tightly with other Genesys products. Orchestration Server executes SCXML-based routing strategies, such as those created in Composer.

8.1.4 CD Updates
The following new feature was introduced in the August 2016 CD update of Orchestration Server:
- Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.
The following new features were introduced in the November 2015 CD update of Orchestration Server:
- The ORS platform now includes a “Performance Monitoring” feature. You can configure performance-related counters, which can then be displayed through Genesys RTME clients, such as Pulse.
- The Performance Monitoring feature of ORS allows users to define separate log messages for each type of performance counter. A new option, http-verbose, can be used to control the volume of HTTP request logging.
- ORS now allow users to selectively hide "sensitive data" in logs when such data is not explicitly requested by an SCXML application.
The following new features were introduced in the June 2015 CD update of Orchestration Server:
- You can now monitor ORS performance using a set of performance-related counters and configure conditions that will both trigger and clear Management Layer alarms.
- A new detach attribute for the ixn:redirect action controls whether ORS should detach an interaction from the current session before routing to the specified target.
- A new option, getlistitem-binary-conversion, defines how binary-formatted Transaction List item attributes will be treated by the function _genesys.session.getListItemValue(list, item) when an item is returned as an OBJECT of key-value pairs.
- A new option, mcr-pull-cycle-quota, allows you to define how many multimedia interactions ORS will request to be pulled from queues in a given pulling cycle during enhanced pulling.
- ORS adds the capability to specify a reasons property in the hints attribute for the ixn:redirect action.
- ORS supports Debug Logging Segmentation, which provides more precise control of logging when the log-trace-segments option is configured.
- Several performance improvements in the SCXML documents processing minimize session-creation time.
- Two new configuration options, max-assembled-cache-age and assembled-cache-reload-threshold, allow users to fine-tune the behavior of the Assembled Document Cache.
- ORS supports voice call and Open Media interaction User Data properties represented by a key-value pair of Unicode or Binary type.
- Orchestration Server now supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and Windows Server 2012 native 64-bit.
8.1.4 Initial Release
The following new features were introduced in the initial 8.1.4 release of Orchestration Server.
- An ORS/Interaction Server protocol extension enhances the mechanism of getting the appropriate interactions for processing from Interaction Server. With enhanced pulling, the pull mechanism uses the strategy name and allows different priorities to be set for different types of interactions. This enhanced pull mechanism can result in improvements in performance and reliability.
- ORS supports Submitter objects configured in Composer. Submitters supply parameters that control how Interaction Server submits multimedia interactions to ORS.
- An ORS protocol extension supports the attachment of Virtual Queue data to multimedia interactions. The attached user data can then be used by a Reporting Solution, such as Genesys Info Mart. This feature requires Universal Routing Server 8.1.4.
- Support for activation/deactivation of any specific routing strategy.
- ORS can directly connect to Configuration Server and pull data. For example, when executing the GetListItemValue function, Orchestration Server can pull data without going through Universal Routing Server.
- Orchestration Servers configured as an High Availabilty pair can automatically synchronize voice treatment request data, thereby ensuring a smooth switchover.
- ORS can now terminate a session when the ixn.redirect action is successfully completed, and there is no other associated interaction attached to that session during the configured timeout. This functionality is enabled by the new Application-level option,
ixnfm-idle-session-ttl, in the orchestration section.
- When upgrading/migrating the Orchestration Server Application to a newer release, you can perform a migration procedure without significant loss of data or impact to business operations. For more information, see HA ORS 8.1.4 Migration Procedure when Persistence Enabled.
[+] New in Release 8.1.3
The following new features were added in the 8.1.3 release:
- There has been a significant architectural change in this release of ORS. ORS now supports a cluster failover and load distribution across two or more data centers. Instead of a cluster of ORS nodes, the architecture is modified such that sessions are distributed among node pairs (primary/backup) with active primary.
- The Apache Cassandra open source solution packaged with Genesys Orchestration Solution now supports a single Cassandra instance across multiple data centers. The Cassandra version included on ORS CD has also been upgraded. ORS 8.1.3 supports Apache Cassandra Version 1.1.x, beginning with Version 1.1.12.
- The <createcall> functionality, which enables calling a user-defined number through the SCXML application, now also provides support to decipher the call status of the initiated call by classifying it as VM, FAX, or dead air, and to provide the specific events to the requested party. This feature assists the Genesys Mobile Engagement solution.
- ORS performance has been improved significantly with this release.

The following new features were added in the 8.1.2 release:
- Orchestration platform now supports call treatment which just includes ORS and media server only. In the previous versions, this functionality was managed by URS working in tandem with ORS.
- Genesys Orchestration Server (ORS) now has features enhancing multisite routing from an ORS cluster.
- ORS now supports fallback URI, as a failover mechanism to provision SCXML application from a Web Server.
- This release of ORS supports multiple views of an Interaction queue, this provides flexibility to users to branch out earlier based on conditions up-front before kick starting a work flow.
- ORS now supports sending user events to a specific T-Server/SIP Server/IVR Server.
- ORS now supports extension data update during call processing to influence, recording, reject codes, dynamic greetings, remote supervision, overriding ring no answer capabilities.
- ORS now supports Windows 2008 64-bit native.

The following new features were added in the 8.1.1 release:
- Genesys Orchestration Server (ORS) can now be used to implement the business logic associated with Advice of Charge (AoC) through the <privateservice> action. This feature enables SIP Server to act as a Charge Determination Point (CDP) to specify the charges/billing rates that will be applied for using a service.
- Orchestration platform now supports Service Level and Service Objective routing solutions. Users can now build SCXML applications to achieve these solutions.
- The Cassandra Open Source solution that is packaged with the Genesys Orchestration Solution is upgraded to versions 0.7x and 0.8x.
- ORS now provides stricter session control through Genesys Administrator, which facilitates real-time reporting for the Orchestration platform and provides application provisioning capabilities.
- Encryption of the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) security password that is used to retrieve strategies is now supported.
- Username, password, and headers are now supported in the session:fetch action.

The following new features were added in the 8.1.0 release:
- ORS supports interaction persistence through the use of
Cassandra. This functionality provides uninterrupted processing
of sessions regardless of ORS instance failure. Other
applications within the ORS cluster will pick up the pending task
as stipulated in persistence database.
Note: Cassandra is a highly scalable second generation distributed database and is part of the Apache project. Cassandra services can also be implemented in an N+1 architecture similar to ORS and is bundled on this ORS CD. For more information on Cassandra, please refer to the Cassandra Installation/Configuration Guide.
- ORS now facilitates a real-time view of sessions through Genesys Administrator. Users can see all current and pending sessions listed by cluster, Orchestration service, and so on, for the previous 24 hours.
- ORS now allows the use of Statistical Functional Module functions without subscribing the required statistics beforehand within the SCXML application.
- ORS is now supported on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5 32-bit and the 64-bit Native operating systems, in addition to the operating systems on which it is currently supported.
- ORS now supports TCP/IP v6. TCP IP v6 improves network security and addresses allocation and efficiency in routing traffic.
