Do I need to back up customizations before a migration?

You don't need to create a backup of your customizations before a migration. Migration from 8.5.2.09 includes a transition to embedded Jetty. This creates a new set of configuration files; therefore existing customizations for 8.5.2.09 are maintained. The GWS service must be configured from scratch. For more information, see transition to embedded Jetty.
