Migration from 8.5.1x to 9.0.x

Prerequisites

• iWD 9.0 requires Java 1.8. Support for Java 1.6 and 1.7 is withdrawn in release 9.0.

Procedure

1. Backup all DBs
2. Upgrade iWD dependencies to supported versions (link to the document created in IWD-7042)
3. Stop all iWD 8.5 components
   1. iWD Manager's Tomcat
   2. iWD Runtime Node
   3. iWD Web
4. Install components
   1. Upgrade GAX plugin to a new version (at least 9.0.002.07) as described here: https://docs.genesys.com/Documentation/IWD/Preview/Dep/IWDGAXPluginInstall2#scrollNav-5
   2. History Node
      1. Install using this document https://docs.genesys.com/Documentation/IWD/Preview/Dep/IWDHistoryNode. Set up JMS and JDBC DAPs.
      2. Do migration from Event Log (see: Migrating GTL History Events) >> https://docs.genesys.com/Documentation/IWD/Preview/Dep/IWDHistoryNodeMigration
      3. Create a connection from iWD Manager Application to History Node application using GAX
      4. Create a connection from Interaction Server to JMS DAP
   3. Datamart
      1. Migration of data from iWD Data Mart 8.5 to iWD Data Mart 9.0 is not supported due to schema changes >> https://docs.genesys.com/Documentation/IWD/Preview/Dep/IWDHistoryNodeLimitations
      2. History Node should be installed already
      3. Migration
         1. Create a new database for Data Mart
         2. Complete fresh installation as a separate application >> https://docs.genesys.com/Documentation/IWD/Preview/Dep/IWDRuntimeInstall
         3. Copy all necessary settings from iWD Runtime Node 8.5 app
         4. Copy all customized ETL scripts to iWD Runtime Node 9.0 ETL directory (../iWD Runtime Node 9.0/etl)
         5. Add History Node Application to connections
         6. Add Config Server Application to connections
         7. Create a Config Server database JDBC DAP with section / option = "iWD / role = cfgserver", add it to RN connections (a link to the documentation created in IWD-7024)
         8. Add jdbc section (url, driver-class) to all created DAPs listed in connections (a link to the documentation created in IWD-7024)
         9. Change/set Datamart application to a new one for all necessary solutions using GAX / iWD / Datamart / <Solution>.
         10. Using GAX change ETL Scripts Directory to a new one for each solution.
         11. Check that your Datamart Business Structure Solution has time zone set.
         12. Check that in Datamart Application schedules/historical and schedules/intraday are set as valid Quartz cron expression
         13. [Optional] Disable EventLog as it was replaced by History Node and JMS event logger.
   4. SSJE
      1. No actions required. There is no new version of SSJE.
   5. iWD Manager
      1. GAX Plugin must be updated already.

      3. Make sure iWD Manager 8.5 is stopped. Disable its autostart.
      4. Import new iWD Manager 9.0 application templates (App and Server) as described here https://docs.genesys.com/Documentation/IWD/Preview/Dep/IWDManagerInstall
      5. Create new application and server configuration objects based on imported templates
      6. Install iWD Manager 9.0 application itself to a separate folder
      7. Create a connection from iWD Manager Application to History Node application using GAX
      8. Copy necessary settings from old iWD Manager app
         1. check you've created connections from iWD Manager Application to UCS (if needed) and Interaction Server
         2. add necessary permissions for iWD access group (to make users able to login, to read filter list etc..)
      9. Make sure that host and port of primary and backup config server are presented in the General -> Command Line Arguments of iWD Manager 9.0 Server
      10. Run migration script (refer to the Config DB to Config Server migration procedure https://intranet.genesys.com/x/qxHqAw#iWDManager-ConfigDBtoConfigServermigration-Migrationprocess)
      11. Enter the GAX and make sure that Scripts -> iWD Manager folder is created and permissions to that folder are granted for EVERYONE group.
   6. iWD Web
      1. Install a new app https://docs.genesys.com/Documentation/IWD/Preview/Dep/iWDWebInstall
5. Start all iWD 9.0 components

Post-installation—Configuring the Solution

Once you have installed iWD 9.0, for each configured Solution you must:

1. Navigate to iWD GAX plugin -> Business Structure -> <Solution name>.
2. Complete the Interaction Server JDBC URL and save the changes.
