Search, display and manage workitems

Search for workitems

  • Search for a specific workitem by entering its ID in the Query field at the top of the Workitems tab and clicking return.
  • Search for any list of tasks by entering a text string in the Query field and clicking return.

Search with predefined queries

Use a predefined query on the collapsible Queries tab to quickly display specific lists of workitems.

Search by time interval

Use the time interval button (which shows the currently displayed time interval) to display either:

  • Quick search using predefined time ranges
  • Absolute date/time ranges for customized time intervals

Display workitem details

Select a task and/or click to see its details. You can toggle the display of specific fields in the summary display by clicking the symbols indicated.


Manage workitems

Use the control buttons at the top of the Workitems window to do the following:

  • Activate the workitem—Select a workitem that has been classified but not yet queued/prioritized?? (So does classification not automatically imply that workitem is assigned to a Dept/Process, and thus prioritized??
  • Hold the workitem—Select a workitem(s) and click Hold. A held workitem can't be reprioritized or distributed, but you can cancel, restart or resume it.
  • Resume a workitem—Select a held workitem(s) and click Resume to resume processing of it. You can only resume held workitems.
  • Cancel a workitem—Select a workitem(s) and click Cancel to permanently cancel it. You can't cancel a workitem if it's been completed, canceled, or rejected. But you can cancel a work item that has already been assigned to an agent.
  • Restart a work item—Select a workitem(s) to send it back to the beginning of the process, where it will be treated as if it was new.

Export workitems to XML

Click Export to XML to export all selected tasks to an XML file. You might want to do this, for example, so you can import the XML into into a third-party application (such as Microsoft Office Excel) for further analysis and processing.
