Downloading Help files
Save the Help file to your local hard drive, and uncompress (extract) it to an empty folder. To open the Help file, open the folder into which the .zip file was extracted, then do one of the following:
- If there is only one file in the folder, click that file.
- If there is more than one file in the folder, click the <name of compressed file>.htm file.
Viewing Help files
If, when you open the Help file, the contents do not display in the right window, consider the following:
- Are you trying to open the file on a remote computer? If so, copy it to your local machine. Due to a Microsoft security update, you cannot properly view a HTML-based (CHM) Help if it is located on another machine on your network.
- What is your permissions setting? Right-click the file, select Properties from the context menu, look for an Unblock button, and click it.

Management Framework 9.x Product Alert
Management Framework Product Alerts
- All Management Framework-related configuration and deployment Wizards are discontinued, including Wizard Manager, Configuration Import Wizard, and Database Initialization Wizard. Therefore, the Framework Wizard Advisory is no longer published with Management Framework software. Issues pertaining to Configuration Conversion Wizard (CCW), which is still supported, will be documented in the Configuration Server Release Notes or this Product Alert.
- For database settings, refer to the Framework 8.5 Database Connectivity Reference Guide.
- Single-Tenant Configuration Server is not released in 8.5.1. If a single-tenant configuration is needed in 8.5.1, Genesys recommends that you install Configuration Server and create new databases using the provided multi-tenant database initialization scripts, and then configure an environment with one Tenant (Environment).
- Configuration Server 8.5 requires a valid license file to start. If you did not receive one when you purchased or upgraded your Genesys software, contact your Genesys representative.
- The AIX operating system uses a default memory allocation model. If the allocated memory is not sufficient for your application, refer to the Genesys Hardware Sizing Guide for information about increasing the memory allocation.
- Configuration Manager and Solution Control Interface do not work with Configuration Server in multi-language mode; you must use Genesys Administrator 8.1.303.03 or later, or Genesys Administrator Extension 8.5.000.44 and configure it accordingly.
- Genesys Administrator and Solution Control Interface require DB Server to view log messages from the Log Database.
- Configuration Server or Configuration Server Proxy in multi-language mode will allow a connection with a client application only if that client is also in multi-language mode. Likewise, you can log in to Configuration Server or Configuration Server Proxy in multi-language mode only from a GUI application that is also in multi-language mode. However, there is one exception to these rules. If the allow-mixed-encoding option is set to true, Configuration Server or Configuration Server Proxy will allow the connection and, if a log in attempt, try to authenticate the user, whether or not the client is in multi-language mode. However, be aware that in this case, if a client sends string data that is encoded differently than the encoding used by the server, Configuration Server or Configuration Server Proxy will terminate immediately.
- To use Outbound Contact Manager (OCM) with Management Framework 8.5, you must have the latest release of OCM 7.6.
- To use Genesys Agent Desktop with Management Framework 8.5, you must have the latest release of Genesys Agent Desktop 7.6.
- When using redundant Configuration Servers, if the Configuration DB Server terminates while the backup Configuration Server is terminated, and is restarted after the backup Configuration Server is restarted, the primary Configuration Server remains in READ-ONLY mode. Do not attempt to:
- Start both primary and backup Configuration Servers simultaneously.
- Start the backup Configuration Server while the primary Configuration Server is in READ-ONLY mode because of its lost connection with the database.
- When using Distributed Solution Control Servers, always ensure that each Solution Control Server, either by itself or as part of a high-availability pair, is running on the Host that it controls. Failure to do so can, in some cases, result in unpredictable behavior of the Solution Control Servers in the Distributed configuration. For example, different Solution Control Servers might start competing for control over applications on the host.
- Solution Control Server (SCS) might stop responding if any log spool files (*.qsp) are deleted while SCS is running. To avoid this problem, do not delete *.qsp files while SCS is running.
- On the Windows 2008 operating system, SNMP Master Agent does not start in console mode if a user (who is not the Administrator, but might be a member of the Administrators Access Group) starts it manually from the browser's Control Panel.
- To enable or disable log filtering using the new application-level configuration option filtering, refer to the Genesys 8.5 Security Deployment Guide.
- If using TLS security with LDAP external authentication, you must configure all LDAP servers listed in the configuration (including those used as backup servers, and servers in different domains) to use the same SSL certificate.
- If you are using FLEXlm license manager, please read this Security Advisory. Note: You must have a Genesys Customer Care username and password to access this advisory.
- Configuration Conversion Wizard (CCW) supports IBM DB2 v.9.7 and later on Linux/UNIX/Windows platforms, and IBM DB2 v.7.1 and later on the AIX platform.
- When using CCW to check the data in your Configuration Database for correct business logic, you can:
- Print the results of the business logic check by right-clicking on the results page and selecting Print from the shortcut menu.
- Return to the top of the results page from any report section by right-clicking the results page and selecting Back from the shortcut menu.
- You cannot use CCW to import or export a database if the Wizard detects the database as being an ORIGINAL UTF-8 or UTF-8. In this case, the Import and Export options are disabled in the Wizard.
- CCW may not run properly in a non-English version of Windows. To remedy this, launch CCW in an English version of Windows.
