What's New

This release contains the following new features and enhancements:

  • VoiceBots (previously known as Cognitive IVR), which uses Google Cloud Speech-to-Text to improve the performance of natural-language interfaces such as Dialog Engine. VoiceBots makes it easier for callers to use spoken natural-language phrases to navigate through a Genesys Intelligent Automation application.
    Important
The VoiceBots feature is currently part of the Early Adopter Program (EAP). For more information, contact Product Manager Jonathan McKenzie.
  • You can now use Personas with the Dynamic Menu builder product, which allows you to configure display labels for digital channels and separate lists of recognition phrases for voice channels.
  • Support for MS SQL Server 2017 (Windows) databases. See the Supported Operating Environment: Genesys Intelligent Automation page for more detailed information and a list of all supported databases.
  • The plugin for Bot Gateway Server now calls directly from the Bot Gateway Server driver (on Digital Messaging Server) to the Intelligent Automation VUI Server, bypassing the Intelligent Automation Messaging Server.
  • Connections to other Genesys servers (for example, Configuration Server or Interaction Server) now use Genesys ADDP functionality.
  • Intelligent Automation can now reference the menuoption_switch_visual_phoneno_variable when the multi-modal mode is set to Visual Mandatory On or Visual Optional. Previously, Intelligent Automation referenced the phone number variable only when the multi-modal mode was set to Visual Optional.

Resolved Issues

This release contains the following resolved issues:

The hive-off process now functions correctly after the server cache was flushed. (SPCHSTRM-2109)

Oracle databases no longer produce an error during the hive-off process if there are two different block types with the same name in the same module. (SPCHSTRM-2093)

This release includes enhanced security to better protect against specific server attacks. (SPCHSTRM-2066, SPCHSTRM-2045)

Audio prompts now play correctly if fallback TTS text was not specified. Previously in this scenario, the prompt was skipped. (SPCHSTRM-2048)

On the PureConnect platform, Intelligent Automation now correctly escapes prompt wording that contains special XML characters such as & < > ". Previously, the presence of these characters in a prompt caused Intelligent Automation to skip the block. (SPCHSTRM-1982)
