What's New

This release contains the following new features and enhancements:

• The following new Solution Control Server (SCS) Log Events are used to detect the state changes of the applications and SCS:
  • 43-10327 [+] show details

    Level	Standard
    Text	Application [app name] mode flipped with-in [time] seconds as [<mode>....<flipped-mode>...<flipped-mode>].
    New Attributes	[app name] Name of application whose operation mode (either primary or backup) has changed frequently. [time] The time interval within which the operation mode of the application has changed. [<mode>....<flipped-mode>...<flipped-mode>] The sequence of automatic changes in the operation mode of the application.
    Description	Reports that the operation mode of an application has changed frequently.

    Level	Standard
    Text	Application [app name] is stable for [time] seconds.
    New Attributes	[app name] Name of the application. [time] The time interval during which the operation mode of the application is stable.
    Description	Reports that the application is stable for a time period.

    Text	SCS[scs name] could have entered split brain state.
    New Attributes	[scs name] Name of SCS.
    Description	Reports that split brain condition may have occurred for SCS.
    Action	Take the appropriate action as described in Detecting split-brain state of Solution Control Servers.

    Description	Reports that SCS has recovered from the split brain state.

  
  
• When Solution Control Servers configured as HA pair lost connection and did not recover within the haflip-detect-timeout time frame, both the servers enter into the split brain state and generate the Log Event, 10329, on becoming primary. When connection between Solution Control Servers is restored, the split brain condition is cleared and the Log Event, 10330, is generated.


• The following Log Events related to read access activities have been enhanced with additional information, such as the IP address of host, tenant name, application name, and application type:

  Text	SC Interface '[app name]' connected, username='[user name]', socket=socket=[socket number], client's host='[IP address:port number]', client's tenant='[tenant]'.
  New Attributes	[IP address:port number] The IP address and port number of the host on which the interface application that connected to SC Interface is located. [tenant] The name of the tenant to which the user who logged into the interface application belongs.
  Description	Reports that the user has connected to SCS.

• 43-10401 [+] show details

  Text	SC Interface '[app name]' disconnected, username='[user name]', socket=socket=[socket number], client's host='[IP address:port number]', client's tenant='[tenant]'.
  New Attributes	[IP address:port number] The IP address and port number of the host on which the interface application that disconnected from SC Interface is located. [tenant] The name of the tenant to which the user who disconnected belongs.
  Description	Reports that SCS has disconnected from the user.

  Text	Request to start application '[application name]' issued by '[user name]' (client info: socket=[socket number], app='[app name]', host='[IP address:port number]', tenant='[tenant]').

  Description	Reports that a user has called an application startup command.

  Text	Request to stop application '[application name]' issued by '[user name]' (client info: socket=[socket number], app='[app name]', host='[IP address:port number]', tenant='[tenant]').
  New Attributes	[app name] The name of the application which called the stop command. [IP address:port number] The IP address and port number of the host on which the application is located. [tenant] The name of the tenant to which the user belongs.
  Description	Reports that a user has called an application stop command.

  Text	Request to stop solution '[application name]' gracefully issued by '[user name]' (client info: socket=[socket number], app='[app name]', host='[IP address:port number]', tenant='[tenant]').
  New Attributes	[app name] The name of the application. [IP address:port number] The IP address and port number of the host on which the application is located. [tenant] The name of the tenant to which the user belongs.
  Description	Reports that a user has requested that a currently running application be stopped gracefully.

Resolved Issues

This release contains the following resolved issues:

When SCS enters the split brain state, SCS now performs a controlled switchover of applications within the timeout period configured using the haflip-detect-timeout option until SCS returns to the normal state. The Log Event, 10327, is generated when the applications switchover and 10328 is generated when the applications are stable. Previously, the applications switched over frequently when SCS entered the split brain state. (MFWK-21241)
